Background

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government-owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

Job Description

• To support and ensure effective monitoring and execution of loan recovery operations at NEEF to minimize loan defaults and optimize the recovery of outstanding debts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Performing thorough analysis and assessment of loan requests to ensure that they are following the credit policy.
• Critically reviewing and reconciling credit files to identify any harmful discrepancies
• Processing security perfections for all facilities as required by conditions of loan approval.
• Developing analysis models that will assist is assessing credit risk in new applications
• Analyzing portfolio performance with regard to quality and profitability in order to inform Management’s decision on the same and for reporting to regulator.
• Collecting data on competitor products and customer feedback to inform development or maintenance of products.
• Providing input in the development and review of credit policies, plans and procedures.
• Compiling credit training needs from the lending personnel and facilitation of the relevant training.
• Producing various stakeholders’ reports and analysis papers including Reserve Bank of Malawi, Credit Reference Bureau, Oversight Agencies, the Shareholders.
• Attending Credit Committee meetings as the appropriate committee level may dictate.

Qualification and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking or any related field obtained from institutions accredited by NCHE.
• 1 year relevant work experience in a similar role
