Background

The National Economic Empowerment Fund Limited (NEEF) is a government-owned Microfinance Institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians (particularly women, youth, and persons with disability) through the provision of quality, affordable and sustainable microfinance services for improved livelihoods.

NEEF invites applications from suitably qualified, mature, ambitious, professional Malawi Nationals with a passion for results and respect for ethics and hands-on experience to fill the vacant position.

Job Description
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity, confidentiality and availability of NEEF’s information systems. This focuses on managing cybersecurity measures, overseeing risk assessments, and implementing security policies and procedures to protect NEEF’s data and ICT infrastructure.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Implementing and managing security protocols, tools, and technologies to protect NEEF’s data and information systems
  • Conducting regular vulnerability assessments, penetrations testing, and monitoring network traffic for unusual behaviour of potential security breach and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinating and leading prompt response to security incidents, documenting and reporting findings to the Director of ICT services, and lead the execution of incidents response plans for data breaches and cyber security threats
  • Engaging with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure ICT security measures meets Fund’s needs
  • Preparing and managing budgets for ICT Security projects and operations
  • Developing and enforcing ICT security policies aligned with NEEF’s goals while maintaining detailed documentation of assets and configurations
  • Implementing security measures to protect ICT applications and infrastructure from breaches, malware, and other threats
  • Monitoring back up and disaster recovery solutions for ICT infrastructure & applications resilience
  • Researching new security technologies to enhance the organization’s cybersecurity posture and overseeing the deployment of advanced security solutions
  • Supervising and mentoring ICT security staff, organizing trainings to keep the team updated on latest technologies
  • Compiling and submitting ICT Security reports to the Director of ICT Services
Qualification and Experience
  • Master’s Degree in ICT, Information Technology, Computer Science or any related field from an NCHE accredited institution;
  • 5 years relevant work experience, with 3 years is at management level.
