As the planting season begins, the air is thick with happiness and optimism all over Group Village Head Mchocholoโs area in Mangochi District; as five farmer groups namely, Fundi Women, Mchere Women, Chilimunthaka Men, Miluli Youth and Nkangondo Men received their NEEFโs Farm Input Loans. These dedicated groups received a total of MK15, 000,000.00 (Fifteen Million Kwacha) from National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) Limited through Mangochi Branch to purchase inputs such as fertilizers and seeds for a promising 2024/2025 growing season. Each group received loans worth MK5,000,000.00.
The loan disbursed on Monday, 2 December 2024, is a turning point for these farmers who had long awaited the disbursal with so much hope. Dorothy Green, Chairperson of the Fundi Women group shared of the impact of this financial assistance. โBefore receiving this loan from NEEF, quality seeds and Fertilizer were out of reach. But with this support, we are now hopeful of a bumper harvest and a brighter future for our families,โ said Green.
Group Village Head Mchocholo also praised NEEF for its unwavering support to his community. โThis loan is a game-changer for our community as it has enabled our farmers to secure farm inputs which will translate into food security for everyone including the entire village. We are deeply grateful to NEEF for such timely help,โ she narrated.
The Mangochi Branch which oversees constituencies including Mkungulu, Mangochi Municipal, Mangochi Central and Mangochi South-West is evermore busy working towards helping individuals and group farmers access timely Farm Input loans in these areas.
