MONICA MSOWOYA A TRUE INSPIRATION OF HARD WORK AND INDEPENDENCE
Aug 27, 2025
Monica Msowoya, a 49-year-old proud farmer from Eneya Village, T/A Mpherembe in Mzimba District bought her brand-new dream car; a 1-tonne Ford Ranger after securing enough profits from a K10 million Farm Input loan.
Msowoya accessed the loan during the 2023/2024 farming season through West Mzimba Branch in Mzimba West constituency.
While some might find it unbelievable, Monica is not surprised with her success. She attests that without the support of NEEF’s loan, she would not have been able to achieve such a milestone.
In the past, her farming business profits were small but now she has turned her ventures into a thriving business.
This season (2024/2025), Monica secured her second loan from NEEF worth K20 million. She invested it on her 25 acres of land, growing maize, tobacco, groundnuts, and soya beans.
The results are already impressive as she yielded 1,000 tins of maize (about 330 bags of 50 kg each) and 240 bales of tobacco. She expects to earn at least K80 million from these crops, all stemming from a K20 million NEEF’s farm input loan.
But the benefits did not stop there. Through her hard work and smart investments, Monica's family can now afford quality education for her children and food security at home.
She will also soon complete building her modern and beautiful home. "Ladies, don’t underestimate your strength. You can achieve anything, just like I did. Don’t wait for permission. Go after what you want and build your own future," advised Monica.
She also stressed that timely loan repayment opens doors for others to access the loans and brings peace of mind, allowing one to live a life free from the stress of debt collectors.
As NEEF continues disbursement of its assorted loans to diverse demographics, Monica’s story echoes as a great example and reminder to women and everyone aspiring to access the loans that with hard work, confidence and the right support, anything is possible.
