President Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera called on Malawians to unite in action as the country embraces a new cultural era aimed at fostering patriotism, productivity, and development.

โ€œI encourage you all that we should hold hands to achieve this vision; not that we should be applauded, but to continue working so that we fix the country,โ€ said the President when he officially opened the Inaugural Cultural Revolution Summit, hosted by Wealth Magazine in collaboration with the CEO Malawi Roundtable at Kamuzu Palace.

The summit, held under the theme โ€œRaise the Flag: Driving a Cultural Revolution for National Transformation,โ€ brought together government officials, private sector leaders, and community actors to discuss cultural attitudes hindering progress and to forge a new way forward.
Among the keynote panelists was the Chief Executive Officer for the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF), Mr. Humphrey Mdyetseni, who shared the Fundโ€™s development vision.

โ€œOur goal is to see Malawi transition from rain-fed agriculture to irrigation-led production systems. At the same time, we must shift our population from being white-collar oriented to blue-collar oriented labour force and focus on skills, production, and entrepreneurship,โ€ said Mdyetseni.

The summit coincided with the launch of the Raise the Flag Campaign, which aims to inspire at least 61 community-led development projects across the country symbolizing each year of Malawiโ€™s independence as part of a renewed push for self-reliance and high-impact development.
