NEEF STAFF TRAINED ON ETHICS OVER EXPEDIENCE IN LILONGWE
Mar 21, 2025
“Empowering Dreams, Rejecting Corruption” was the chant of the day at the NEEF staff Anti-corruption training that took place at Lilongwe Sunbird hotel today on 21st March 2025.
The training is part of an ongoing anti-corruption awareness campaign under the theme “Ethics over Expedience: Choosing the Right Path”. The initiative, led by the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) Institutional Integrity Committee (IIC), aims to promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and ethical conduct among staff.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Idrissa Mwale, a comptroller and representative from the Department of Statutory Corporations (DSC), highlighted the collective role in maintaining integrity.
“Maintaining institutional integrity is not solely the responsibility of the IIC or management; it is a shared responsibility. Every staff member, every client, and every partner must be committed to upholding these principles,” Mwale emphasized.
Echoing this sentiment, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General, Mr. Hillary Chilomba, called for individual commitment to ethical behavior. “A corruption-free Malawi begins with one NEEF officer. Let’s all remain vigilant and ethical,” Chilomba urged.
Present at the training were officers from NEEF Centre West and Centre South regions (Mchinji, Lilongwe, and Dedza). The Institutional Integrity Committee (IIC) continues to conduct anti-corruption awareness events in different regions, reinforcing its commitment to fostering integrity and ensuring accountability within the organization.
