The National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) participated in the launch of Ego Nano Urea Fertilizer, a groundbreaking product manufactured by Paramount Holdings Limited. The event took place at the Trade Fair Grounds in Blantyre on29th August 2025, marking a crucial step towards transforming the country's farming landscape.
Minister of Agriculture, Honourable Sam Kawale, emphasized the potential of Ego Nano Urea Fertilizer to alleviate the financial burden on farmers. "This innovation will not only benefit farmers by providing affordable fertilizers but also reduce transport costs," he said.
Honourable Kawale added that the high cost of fertilizers has been a significant challenge for farmers which has often resulted into low yields. However, with the introduction of Ego Nano Urea Fertilizer, farmers can expect a substantial improvement in agricultural productivity.
The Managing Director of Paramount Holdings Limited expressed gratitude for the opportunity to introduce Ego Nano Fertilizer to the Malawian market. He revealed plans to establish a manufacturing plant in Malawi, a move that will further boost the country's agricultural sector.
This development complements NEEF's existing Micro-Irrigation program, which has been instrumental in enhancing agricultural productivity and food security in Malawi. By providing farmers with access to affordable micro-irrigation solutions, NEEF has enabled them to cultivate their land throughout the year, regardless of the season. In this season of micro-irrigation, the Fund has already started distributing Eco-Nano Urea fertilizer which is currently selling at MK65, 000 per bottle.
