Chitipa's Senior Chief Mwabulambya has hailed the National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) for transforming his agricultural productivity through a Farm Input loan that enabled him to harvest 150 bags of maize this season.

The Chief, who received 16 bags of fertilizer said the support significantly boosted his maize yield. He has since sold 56 bags, enabling him to make a bullet repayment of the loan well before the due date.

“I am grateful to NEEF. From the 16 bags of fertilizer, I have 94 bags of maize as my profit,” said Senior Chief Mwabulambya. “I decided to repay early to show that loans can be managed responsibly and to encourage others in my community to do the same.”
NEEF conducts client character assessments as one of the steps in ensuring that applicants demonstrate integrity, reliability and commitment to repaying loans. This process minimizes the risk of defaults.

Senior Chief Mwabulambya’s early loan repayment demonstrates the heart of a leader and his integrity in honoring his word to NEEF that he would repay the loan in time.

The value of timely loan repayment cannot be overlooked as this enables NEEF to offer agricultural financing productively and sustainably to farmers in this country.
